The Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback situation is drawing considerable attention as the NFL Draft approaches, with Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss emerging as a prominent prospect. While earlier mock drafts linked Shedeur Sanders to the Rams, analysts are increasingly highlighting Dart as a more likely fit, especially given the potential for Sanders to be selected before the Rams’ No. 26 pick.
Los Angeles Rams Named Obvious Fit For Jaxson Dart

ESPN’s draft experts have weighed in on Dart’s potential, with Jordan Reid placing a 75% probability on him being a first-round selection. Reid points to Dart’s rising stock since the Senior Bowl and identifies the Rams as the “best-case scenario” for his development. “
Dart’s stock has continued to rise since the Senior Bowl,” Reid stated. “Pairing Dart with Rams coach Sean McVay and allowing him to sit and develop behind Matthew Stafford for multiple seasons in L.A. would be the best-case scenario for him.” Dart’s senior season at Ole Miss saw him throw for 4,279 yards, with 29 touchdowns and six interceptions, while also adding 495 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Further emphasizing Dart’s first-round potential, ESPN’s Field Yates assigned a 90% probability, suggesting that Dart could even be an immediate starter for some teams. Yates also mentioned the Rams as a team that could view him as a future starting quarterback.
Matt Miller echoed this sentiment, placing the likelihood at 95%, citing positive feedback from scouts regarding Dart’s pre-draft process. He also agreed that the Rams represent an “obvious fit” for the quarterback.
Despite the Rams’ current commitment to Matthew Stafford, the prospect of drafting Dart is being viewed as a strategic move to secure the team’s long-term quarterback solution under head coach Sean McVay.
