With the 26th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams face a critical decision: selecting a player who can immediately contribute to their Super Bowl aspirations. Their current window of opportunity, defined by the two-year durations of Matthew Stafford’s restructured contract and Davante Adams’s deal, necessitates maximizing their offensive potential.
The acquisition of Adams, paired with the emergence of Puka Nacua, has already established a formidable passing attack. To further enhance this strength, the Rams could target a pass-catcher in the draft.
One potential avenue is to address their tight end position, adding a crucial element to their offense. Alternatively, they could opt for a speedy receiver, solidifying their offensive identity and empowering their existing receiving corps.
Los Angeles Rams Draft Matthew Golden To Inject Missing Component

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, in his recent mock draft, projects the Rams to select Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, emphasizing the need for added speed.
“They have to add a speed threat to the offense. Golden ran an impressive 40 at the combine, which is why he would make sense. Add him to Davante Adams and Puka Nacua and see how his speed will change things,” Prisco stated.
Golden’s 2024 season at Texas saw him record 58 receptions for 987 yards and nine touchdowns, marking his most productive collegiate year. Entering the draft as a junior, he offers a relatively fresh set of legs. While the Rams’ passing game is already potent, the addition of Golden’s speed would create further offensive dynamism. This potential selection, however, raises questions about neglecting other areas of need, such as a lockdown defender or bolstering the defensive line.
Nevertheless, Golden’s speed would undoubtedly elevate the Rams’ offense, creating mismatches and providing quarterback Matthew Stafford with additional targets.
