Analyst Blown Away By Los Angeles Rams Free Agent Addition

The Los Angeles Rams’ most significant offseason acquisition has been the addition of veteran wide receiver Davante Adams, a move designed to bolster their already potent offense. While the Rams’ offense performed above average last season, Adams’ arrival solidifies their position as contenders for the NFC West title.

Adams’ proven track record, highlighted by consecutive 1,000-plus receiving yard seasons since 2020, promises an immediate impact. Furthermore, he brings a veteran presence and added confidence to the Rams’ receiving corps, which includes Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua.

While some have speculated about Adams’ potential decline, analyst Rich Eisen believes the Rams made an astute decision. On “The Rich Eisen Show,” Eisen praised the signing, stating, “Davante Adams going to the Rams man, when I heard that I’m like, ‘what a brilliant move it is’. Les Snead is paying him $26 million guaranteed over two years… You’re getting a future Hall of Famer and a top-notch professional and a terrific human all in one.”

The acquisition aligns with Adams’ expressed interest in playing on the West Coast, and it provides Puka Nacua with the opportunity to learn from another elite receiver, complementing the mentorship he received from Cooper Kupp. Importantly, the addition of Adams does not diminish Nacua’s role in the offense.

Eisen elaborated on this, saying, “Puka Nacua should have more catches than Davante Adams, because he is an absolute, get wide open, insane catching machine. And, should get the defensive spotlight thrown on him throughout the week by defensive coordinators and absolutely should get the attention paid of somebody his stature. He is arguably in the top five wide receiver department when healthy (so far).” This suggests that the Rams envision a dynamic offensive partnership between Adams and Nacua.
