Top NFL Analyst Ready To Name Los Angeles Rams NFC’s Best Team, With 1 Big Condition

The upcoming 2025 NFL Draft holds significant potential for the Los Angeles Rams. With Matthew Stafford returning to lead the offense, Davante Adams providing a premier receiving threat, and a young, ascending defense, Sean McVay’s squad appears poised to be among the NFL’s elite. This draft presents a crucial opportunity for Los Angeles to further solidify their roster and genuinely contend for a championship in the 2025 season.

This potential has not gone unnoticed by analysts. Matt Harmon and Frank Schwab of Yahoo Sports recently identified the Rams as a team that could be just one impactful draft away from Super Bowl contention this year.

Specifically addressing a key area of need, Schwab commented, “If they have another one of those drafts where you can fix the cornerback situation, they go from the best team in the NFC West to maybe one of the best teams in the NFC.”

Over the past two seasons, the Rams have strategically rebuilt their defense through impactful draft selections. In 2023, they added promising talents like Byron Young and Kobie Turner.

This was followed by another strong draft in 2024, where they secured Jared Verse and Braden Fiske after the retirement of Aaron Donald, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a high level of defensive play. Furthermore, the offseason acquisition of Poona Ford aims to bolster their run-stopping capabilities along the defensive front.

According to Schwab’s analysis, the primary missing piece for this Rams team is depth and talent in the secondary, making the cornerback their top priority in the upcoming draft. Ultimately, however, the team’s success hinges on the continued performance of quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The Stafford question may force the Rams to look to the draft to solve that problem rather than address the cornerback. Sportsbooks have given the Rams 10-1 odds of drafting QB Jaxson Dart, who is expected to go in the first round

Schwab contends that Stafford’s consistent play will be the driving force behind the Rams’ efforts to not only defend their NFC West title but also to compete with formidable NFC contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles for a Super Bowl berth.
