The Los Angeles Rams, having identified their run defense as a vulnerability last season, have proactively addressed this issue by acquiring a seasoned run-stopping nose tackle. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Rams have reached a three-year agreement with Poona Ford, a deal that could reach up to $29.6 million. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN further reports that the contract includes $17 million in guaranteed money.
Los Angeles Rams Sign Free Agent Poona Ford

Ford, a 5-foot-11, 310-pound defensive lineman, is known for his prowess in stopping the run. He will play a crucial role in the Rams’ defensive line, working alongside Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske. Ford spent the previous season with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he started all 17 games, recording 39 tackles and three sacks.
Ford, 29, brings seven years of NFL experience, during which he has accumulated 11.5 career sacks, 39 quarterback hits, and 37 tackles for loss. With his addition, LA is likely to part ways with pending free agent Bobby Brown III. Brown, who previously expressed dissatisfaction with his role on the team, seems destined for a fresh start elsewhere.
