Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis’s illustrious NFL career began with the Los Angeles Rams, when the team selected him with the 10th overall pick in the 1993 NFL Draft. During his three seasons with the team, “The Bus” showcased his exceptional talent, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 1993 and securing consecutive Pro Bowl selections.
The current Rams are experiencing a period of transition, having achieved an impressive turnaround last season despite a slow start. However, the team has made a significant decision by exploring trade options for Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp.
Jerome Bettis: Los Angeles Rams A Year Late On Cooper Kupp Trade Decision

While some may find this move surprising, Bettis believes the team may have delayed this decision. In his view, the Rams should have considered trading Kupp sooner, recognizing the potential for a significant return while his value remained at its peak.
“I think they’re really a year late,” said Bettis in a one-on-one interview with RG. “They’re a year late on that. They wanted to make that decision, they wanted to make that move last year. But they were lukewarm with it. Now, they’re public with it. They’re a year late.”

At 32 years old, Kupp has experienced a slight dip in his production in recent seasons. Meanwhile, the emergence of Puka Nacua has provided the Rams with a promising young talent at the receiver position.
“They don’t need to pay two guys a big amount to do the same thing. You have two guys that play the same position, right? They do the same thing. You don’t need the redundancy.”
With Kupp on his way out of the door, the Rams will face significant turnover at wide receiver. Both Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, and Tutu Atwell are free agents — the latter won’t be re-signed per the latest reporting. Tight end is another position to watch this offseason with Tyler Higbee in consideration for a contract renegotiation after an 11-month recovery from surgery to repair a torn MCL and ACL. His current deal is set to expire after this season
