Los Angeles Rams Predicted To Sign Super Bowl Winning Linebacker

Perhaps the biggest position of need for the Los Angeles Rams this offseason is the linebacker position.

Starter Christian Rozeboom and depth pieces Troy Reeder and Jacob Hummel will all be free agents, leaving them with UDFA Omar Speights. They will likely need to sign someone, whether it is re-signing someone from above, purely out of necessity.

However, if they decide to prioritize the position and spend more this offseason, there are some quality free agents available.

Pro Football Network just put out their 2025 Free Agent Predictions, and they have the Rams shelling out and signing Super Bowl winner, Philadelphia Eagles LB Zack Baun.

Anyone who follows the Rams knows that they typically do not prioritize the LB position. A few years ago, they did open up the checkbook when they signed Bobby Wagner, but that only lasted a year and they cut him just one year into his five-year deal.

Ben Rolfe writes:

“The intriguing thing will be how people balance his amazing year with the Eagles against the fact that it is his only year of starter production. Just based on pure production, Baun is the best linebacker available, but there are more proven commodities.”

In his first year in Philly, Baun finished with an astonishing stat line. He recorded 151 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception.

Prior to last year, he never had more than 30 total tackles in his four seasons with the Saints (the team that drafted him in 2020 out of Wisconsin).

Last year was an incredible leap in production and speaks highly to Vic Fangio and his defensive system that put him in positions to succeed.

“The intriguing thing about the linebacker market for the Rams is that they have had both Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones on their roster, having traded one away and cut the other. We may not see the outcome, but negotiations with both parties could be intriguing.”

On the Rams LAFB Show, we covered the LB Free Agent market and spoke about how it might be the biggest need for the Rams. The question, as it always is, remains though, will they prioritize the position or go cheap and take a swing in the NFL Draft?

We are less than a month away from the tampering period opening up.
