The saga is over. The drama is over. Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed on a new contract that will keep him in Horns.
Matthew Stafford To Remain With Los Angeles Rams
It came down to the 11th hour, but the Rams and Stafford have been able to come to terms. We will update this report as the contract details become available, but early indications are that Stafford agreed to take less than what the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders were offering to stay in LA.
- Matthew Stafford 2024 Stats: 3,762 yards, 20 TDs, 8 INTs
Ultimately, this is what is best for both parties. The Rams keep their best quarterback option, continuity, and a leader in the locker room, and Stafford finishes his career in Los Angeles and has his best shot to win another Super Bowl before retiring.
The Rams do, however, still intend to trade Cooper Kupp. So that is most likely their next order of business before turning their eyes to free agency. There was a moment where it felt like Kupp and Stafford could be dealt together in a trade package. Obviously, that is no longer the case.
Everyone breath. Matthew Stafford remains where he should be, with the Los Angeles Rams.
