The New York Giants, despite a challenging 2024 season, have retained head coach Brian Daboll and his coaching staff. While the team’s future remains uncertain, the quarterback position is undoubtedly a primary area of focus.

Daniel Jones was released during the season, leaving the Giants in search of a new signal-caller. Speculation has emerged regarding a potential reunion with Matthew Stafford, who has been linked to the team amid rumors of his departure from the Los Angeles Rams.

The hiring of Chad Hall as assistant quarterbacks coach has added another layer of intrigue to the situation.

“Giants are hiring former Jaguars and Bills WR coach Chad Hall as their assistant quarterbacks coach, per source,” Adam Schefter reported. “Hall now reunites with his former Bills colleagues, HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen, in New York. Hall also is the brother-in-law of current Rams QB Matthew Stafford.”

Hall, a former wide receiver who spent four seasons in the NFL with four different teams, boasts a limited playing career, recording 16 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns in 24 games. However, he has carved a successful path as a coach, serving as wide receivers coach for the Buffalo Bills from 2017 to 2022 before a two-year stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hall’s familial connection being the brother of Stafford’s wife, Kelly, has naturally drawn significant attention. Since Stafford’s future with the Rams has come under question, Kelly has made remarks via her podcast and on social media leading fans to believe she and Matthew are open to new adventures beyond LA.
