Los Angeles Mock Draft: Finding More Offensive Firepower

1st Round, 26th overall: Jack Bech, Wide Reciever, TCU

The Senior Bowl MVP has taken the NFL world by storm. I was already a fan of Bech before this past week, but now I have become a superfan of the wideout from TCU. The Rams need more skill-position players to surround their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Matthew Stafford.

With the announcement that they will trade Cooper Kupp and a depleted depth chart, the Los Angeles Rams are in dire need of help this offseason.

Bech is currently the 38th-ranked prospect according to PFF. The 6’2′ 215-pound Horned Frog finished his college career with 90 receptions, 1380 yards, and 10 touchdowns.

His size and separation are what sets Bech apart from other prospects. During his week at the Senior Bowl, Bech turned heads because of his explosiveness in drills and Randy Moss-type catches.

3rd Round, 90th overall: Harold Fanin Jr., Tight End, Bowling Green

Another prospect that has risen through the ranks this week is Bowling Green’s Harold Fanin Jr. Throughout his time this past season, Fanin Jr. dominated in every game he played in. This includes games against Power Four schools like Penn State and Texas A&M.

The Los Angeles Rams’ number one need this offseason is to find a highly productive Tight End and Fanin Jr. would fill that role perfectly. Fanin Jr. is a massive receiving threat that would create even more opportunities for Nacua. He is also an incredible blocking Tight End that would help the Rams’ illustrious running game.

Fannin Jr. is currently the 91st-ranked prospect according to PFF. The 6’4′ and 230 pounds Bowling Green prospect finished his college career with 186 receptions, 2396 total yards, and 17 touchdowns.

3rd Round, 100th overall: Mello Dotson, Defensive Back, Kansas

With their second pick in the 3rd Round, the Rams should select Kansas Jayhawk Mello Dotson. Dotson was a key part of the Jayhawk defense for the past five years. During this time, he made a name for himself as one of the premier defensive backs in the Big 12.

The Los Angeles Rams require help in the secondary as many key players are predicted to leave the team through Free Agency. Mello Dotson would be a great player to select in this spot for the Rams to find key help from an older prospect. Dotson brings the experience and tangibles that could make an impact in the NFL. Dotson also brings experience on special teams.

Mello Dotson is currently the 98th-ranked prospect according to PFF. The 6’1′ 190 pound Jayhawk prospect finished his college career with 12 interceptions, 177 total tackles, and 4 touchdowns as a returner.

4th Round, 126th overall: Jaxson Dart, Quarterback, Ole Miss

With the 126th pick of the draft, I have the Rams selecting their potential quarterback of the future: Jaxson Dart.

During his time with Ole Miss, Dart was one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Learning under Lane Kiffin has benefited the 21-year-old prospect, and he could benefit even more if he spent time behind Matthew Stafford.

Matthew Stafford is still a very talented quarterback in the NFL, but he is fast approaching 37 years old. The Rams should take a chance on Dart if he is available in the later rounds. Dart is an intelligent player who can read defenses with ease and would be able to pick up the offense relatively easily.

Jaxson Dart is currently the 118th-ranked prospect according to PFF. The 6’2′ 225-pound quarterback finished his college career with 11,970 passing yards, 1543 rushing yards, and 95 total touchdowns.

Los Angeles Rams 7-round mock draft:

  • 1st Round, 26th overall: Jack Bech, Wide Reciever, TCU
  • 3rd Round, 90th overall: Harold Fanin Jr., Tight End, Bowling Green
  • 3rd Round, 100th overall: Mello Dotson, Defensive Back, Kansas
  • 4th Round, 126th overall: Jaxson Dart, Quarterback, Ole Miss
  • 6th Round, 190th overall: Smael Mondon Jr., Linebacker, Georgia
  • 6th Round, 201st overall: Malachi Moore, Defensive Back, Alabama
  • 6th Round, 202nd overall: Logan Brown, Tackle, Kansas
