The Los Angeles Rams have already been in the offseason storylines for admitting that All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp is on the trade block. Kupp, 31, was the Super Bowl LVI MVP, but he hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2021. He’s set to have a $29.7 million cap hit in 2025, which is far too rich for his recent production.
Yet, if Kupp is traded or released, coach Sean McVay will want him to be replaced with another highly capable receiver who can create a spark opposite Puka Nacua. The perfect solution may already be available.

Davante Adams ‘intrigued’ by Los Angeles Rams

If the Los Angeles Rams do part ways with their veteran All-Pro receiver, they could try replacing him with another.
One player who may become available is New York Jets All-Pro wideout Davante Adams, who has a $38.3 million cap hit in 2025. The Jets won’t be paying that much to the 32-year-old three-time All-Pro, even if he is coming off the fifth consecutive 1,000-yard season of his career.
According to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Rams could emerge as a top landing spot for Adams, should he get traded or released from his contract.
“The Jets must address the future of receiver Davante Adams, whose $38.3 million cap hit is untenable. A source told me Adams is intrigued by a return to the West Coast and would be open to potentially joining teams such as the Rams or the Chargers – if he gets released.”

The best path for Adams to end up in LA is if he’s released, allowing him to pick his next destination while the Rams work out a contract that works for both sides. Adams, a Redwood City, California native, attended college at Fresno State, and now he could be looking to return to his home state, this time with an NFL team.
