With both Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell exploring their options in the free-agent market, Slayton could provide immediate and valuable support alongside Puka Nacua.
Darius Slayton has consistently demonstrated his reliability as a WR2 throughout his NFL career. He has surpassed 700 receiving yards and maintained an average of 15 yards per catch in four of his first five seasons. The 28-year-old possesses the speed to stretch the field, a trait that would effectively complement Nacua’s skill set and enhance the Rams’ passing game by creating additional space. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF) projections, Slayton is expected to command a three-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $12.5 million, a reasonable investment for a proven playmaker.
A receiving corps comprised of Nacua, Slayton, and either a re-signed Robinson or Atwell would provide Matthew Stafford with a well-rounded and versatile group as they enter the 2025 season.
