Hosts Sam Monson and Steve Palazzolo had a hard time making up their minds when it came to the Los Angeles Rams. The Pro Football Focus NFL podcast recently went over all the NFC teams to pick whether they would go over or under their betting win total.
BetOnline, as well as, many other betting sites have set the Rams over/under win total at 8.5 wins. The conversation started with uncertainty and it ended in the same fashion, with the hosts split. Monson expects the Rams to win eight games or fewer and Palazzolo took the over.
Their debate centers around the big storylines from the Rams offseason. The offense looks to be a juggernaut, but what will the defense look like without Aaron Donald?
Unclear How Good The Los Angeles Rams Will Be In 2024

“You’ve got Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua all on the same offense, firing at the same time, along with that back bill of Kyren Williams,” Monson said, “The addition of Blake Corum, the Kyren Williams clone. There’s a lot to like about that. That’s a really good group, and they’ve sort of kept firing on the offensive line a bit to try and make sure that doesn’t become the problem that looked like it could be last year.
“But the but the big sort of elephant in the room is they lose a Donald to retirement in the off season. Who was who was the best player in the NFL over the last decade? Right? Let’s put it that way. That’s obviously a huge loss.”

The Rams finished last season as the ninth-best offense in the league and the 20th-best defense in the league and found a way to win 10 games, winning seven of their last eight games, and earning a playoff berth. With each new season being so different, it is hard to compare one to another, but there is instability when forecasting the 2024 season.
“There’s so much to be optimistic about with the Rams,” Palazzolo said, “But I also think that it is a tough division and here’s the other number. They do have the hardest schedule. So I mentioned the Arizona having the second hardest. The hardest schedule in the NFC is the Rams six hardest in the NFL for pff.com.”
Ultimately, Monson picked the under because as he said, “I basically if I don’t have a particularly strong feeling on the team I’m gonna lead under so therefore will win under.”
Palazzolo picked the over, “I love the Rams. They’re definitely gonna win 10 or 11 games again.”
