Los Angeles Rams Linked To Another Reclamation QB As Latest NFL Trade Rumors Swirl

As the 2025 NFL calendar year approaches, the future of Matthew Stafford and his relationship with the Los Angeles Rams remains a significant point of interest within the NFC. The Rams, a team that overcame substantial early-season challenges to emerge as a compelling story within the highly competitive NFC West, came within a single fourth-quarter completion by Stafford of reaching the NFC Championship game, a contest in which they would have been favored to represent the conference in the Super Bowl.

With the NFL Combine starting later this week, the NFL unofficial tampering period comes with it, and along with that will come a number of NFL trade rumors. According to Clutch Points, one to be on the lookout for will be a Rams — Tennessee Titans trade involving Will Levis.

“With the Titans widely expected to either draft a new quarterback first overall or go in a different direction via free agency or a trade of their own, Levis could be available for a midround pick and may develop still into a certified gamer under one of the better offensive head coaches in the NFL,” wrote CP.

Rams head coach Sean McVay has long been considered among the league’s best offensive coaches and during this hotbed of Matthew Stafford NFL trade rumors have been linked to every mediocre quarterback in the league and in the upcoming draft.

While the Rams have helped undiscovered and underrated talent find new life in the NFL, this is not entirely true for the quarterbacks that have come and gone from the Rams building. The outlier is Baker Mayfield, but there are far more examples of replacement-level QBs coming and going without renown from McVay’s tutelage.

But this logic is merely a red herring used to distract from the real issue in the Rams building; they have no public plan at the position for when Matthew Stafford inevitably leaves the team — whether by trade or due to a trade.

So throw Levis in there with Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson, Daniel Jones, and Jimmy Garoppolo. Are any of these quarterbacks the future of the franchise? Maybe. The Rams need to try something, likely multiple ‘somethings’ to replace Stafford — and the clock is ticking.
