Las Vegas Raiders Predicted To Draft QB With Insane Upside In 3rd Round

With the acquisition of quarterback Geno Smith, the Las Vegas Raiders are unlikely to select a quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they may still seek a developmental quarterback to complement their roster. While Aidan O’Connell is slated to be the backup, Las Vegas could target a player with greater athletic potential to learn behind Smith. Fortunately, several intriguing quarterback options may be available in the later rounds.

In Chad Reuter’s recent four-round mock draft for NFL.com, he projects that the Raiders will select Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the third round, with the 68th overall pick.

Milroe recently impressed scouts at his Alabama Pro Day, recording an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.37 seconds. This speed would immediately position him among the NFL’s fastest quarterbacks.

Despite his athleticism, Milroe’s passing ability raises concerns. His 2024 season saw a regression in passing performance, with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. However, his physical attributes are undeniable. Though not exceptionally tall at 6-foot-2, he possesses a powerful build, a strong arm, and exceptional speed.

The Raiders present a favorable environment for Milroe’s development. He would have the opportunity to learn behind Smith for two to three years, under the guidance of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who has a proven track record of quarterback development. A third-round pick represents a reasonable investment for a quarterback with Milroe’s potential.
