While recent 2025 NFL mock drafts have frequently linked the Las Vegas Raiders to prospects like Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, a new projection from 33rd Team’s James Foster introduces a different name: Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell, selected at No. 6 overall.
Las Vegas Raiders Draft Top LB In Draft Class

Foster describes Campbell as “one of the best athletes in this class,” emphasizing his versatility as a “prototypical three-down linebacker with pass-rushing versatility and impressive coverage instincts for his age.” Foster believes that with continued development in his run-game processing skills, Campbell possesses “All-Pro upside,” offering defensive coordinator Patrick Graham a valuable “movable chess piece” and an upgrade over Devin White and Elandon Roberts.
Selecting an off-ball linebacker in the top 10 represents a somewhat traditional approach, but the Raiders’ need for improvement at the second level justifies such a move. Campbell’s high-caliber talent would significantly strengthen their defense. Graham’s ability to maximize player potential, as demonstrated by Robert Spillane’s development, suggests Campbell could thrive in his system.
Campbell’s strengths lie in his coverage abilities, a crucial aspect of modern NFL defenses, as well as his pass-rushing effectiveness and downhill tackling prowess. He stands out among a strong linebacker class, excelling in multiple facets of the position.
NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein compares Campbell to Trevin Wallace, noting his “build and traits of an Alabama linebacker.” However, Zierlein also points out areas for improvement, such as “early instincts or play recognition” and consistency in challenging blockers and leveraging run fits. Campbell’s speed and athleticism help compensate for these shortcomings, allowing him to make plays. Zierlein suggests Campbell’s “elite traits and athletic talent” might be best utilized in a 3-4 rush linebacker role, where he can be more proactive.
