Las Vegas Raiders Land Athletic Alien After Securing Two 1st Round Pick With Epic Trade In Latest Mock Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders, holding the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, are widely expected to target Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, a connection frequently highlighted in recent mock drafts.

However, CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso introduces a twist to this narrative. While he still projects the Raiders selecting Jeanty, emphasizing the offensive boost he would provide, he also proposes a bold move later in the first round.

“With Jeanty in the mix, the Raiders are much more dangerous on paper now than they were a year ago,” he writes.

Trapasso predicts Las Vegas will trade up to acquire a second first-round pick, striking a deal with the Minnesota Vikings. This trade would involve the Raiders sending their No. 37, No. 68, and No. 215 picks to the Vikings in exchange for the 24th overall selection.

With this newly acquired pick, Trapasso projects the Raiders to select East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. “The Raiders jump at the opportunity to add a cornerback of Revel’s size and ball-hawking skill in Round 1. Without many picks entering this draft, the Vikings will be motivated to move back,” Trapasso explains. Revel, described as a long and physical cornerback, is ranked as CBS Sports’ No. 3 corner in the draft and their 32nd overall prospect. Pro Football Focus, however, ranks him as the 43rd prospect on their big board.

PFF’s Trevor Sikkema offers a detailed evaluation of Revel, stating, “Revel is the ideal Day 2 athletic alien to draft and develop, despite inconsistent anticipation and technique in his current form. His physical gifts (including height and length) point to press-man coverage being his home in the NFL, but it will be quite the adjustment for him to go from one year of staring experience in the AAC to the NFL — especially off a torn ACL.”

While Revel’s potential is evident, the Raiders might consider alternative options that offer better value. However, if they deem Revel the right fit, they could pull the trigger. They might even aim for a higher pick than No. 24, potentially securing a player with a higher ceiling. This scenario, however, depends on the Raiders securing a favorable trade, identifying the right prospect, and finding a team willing to make the deal.
