The Las Vegas Raiders are on the long and tenuous path toward fixing what has been broken for quite some time now. Through the first two weeks of free agency, they have patched many of their most important spots. GM, head coach, coordinators, quarterback. Check, check, check, and check.
But several good options remain on the open market, just waiting to get scooped up by a needy team. According to Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, JK Dobbins is one of those free agents who would fit well with the Raiders’ new offense under Chip Kelly.

“The Raiders could also provide Dobbins with a terrific opportunity. Las Vegas needs a starting-caliber running back to support new quarterback Geno Smith and new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Las Vegas’ only backfield addition thus far is Raheem Mostert, who will turn 33 next month.“
. Dobbins’ free agency journey has been significantly impacted by his extensive injury history. Had he maintained consistent health, he likely would have secured a contract early in the free agency period. His demonstrated productivity as a running back, coupled with his relatively young age of 26, makes him an appealing prospect.
However, Dobbins’ availability has been a persistent issue. He missed the entire 2021 season due to a torn ACL, suffered a torn Achilles in 2023, and experienced another knee injury last season. Consequently, he appeared in only nine total games for the Baltimore Ravens between 2021 and 2023.
Despite these setbacks, Dobbins showcased his capabilities during his 13 appearances for the Chargers last season. He effectively handled a high-volume workload, rushing for 905 yards at 4.6 yards per carry and scoring nine touchdowns.
While his injury history presents a legitimate concern, Dobbins’ potential as a starter or a valuable complementary back remains undeniable.
