The Las Vegas Raiders’ quest for quarterback stability continues, even after the acquisition of Geno Smith earlier this offseason. While discussions about a potential extension for Smith have been circulating, there has been little tangible progress on that front.
Regardless of whether an extension materializes, the Raiders would be wise to secure a rookie quarterback to develop for the future. Consequently, the team has been linked to numerous quarterback prospects, and a new name has emerged in their search.
Las Vegas Raiders Draft: Quinn Eweres Meetings Ahead Of NFL Draft

The Raiders’ interest in Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has intensified, with multiple meetings scheduled. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Raiders will meet with Ewers twice: first at his Pro Day on Tuesday, and then during one of the team’s top-30 visits in early April.
“Just as newsworthy is what’s happening around Ewers’s pro day,” said Breer. “The plan is for him to meet with the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders today and have dinner with the New Orleans Saints brass tonight, with all three teams expected to send big crews to Austin. He already has 30 visits set up with the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, and Raiders for early April.”
The Raiders’ interest in Ewers is not a recent development. At the NFL Combine in February, Ewers was among the quarterbacks the team interviewed and observed. He and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe reportedly left a strong impression on the Raiders. While the acquisition of Geno Smith has diminished the likelihood of the Raiders selecting a quarterback in the first round, Ewers remains a viable Day Two option.
A strong showing at his Pro Day could significantly influence the Raiders’ decision, potentially solidifying Ewers’ status as a future Raiders quarterback.
