It seems like the Las Vegas Raiders and Ashton Jeanty have been linked since the team hired Pete Carroll as their new coach. Carroll’s biggest successes as a coach have been with an elite player in the offensive backfield, whether that was with the USC Trojans and Reggie Bush or with the Seattle Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch.
But according to Pro Football Focus, the Raiders should be looking to Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Tetairoa McMillan’s Fit With the Las Vegas Raiders

“As PFF’s Dalton Wasserman has highlighted on multiple occasions, pairing McMillan with Geno Smith just makes sense,” PFF writes “Smith has been one of the most productive vertical passers in the NFL for the past three seasons, ranking 10th in PFF passing grade on 10-plus-yard throws, while McMillan profiles as a highly productive target in such situations.”
According to the Athletic’s Dane Brugler, McMillan is the top receiver and the 12th-best prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. He writes, “McMillan is only average in the speed and separation categories, but he is a long and limber athlete with exceptional tracking and ball-winning instincts. He fits the Tee Higgins mold as a unique playmaker because of his size and catch-point skills.”
Regardless of what PFF thinks is the best, it seems the Raiders are on a collision course with Jeanty. According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, many people around the NFL believe strongly that the Vegas front office and coaching staff have ‘fallen in love’ with Jeanty and think he’ll be the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
