3 Players The Raiders Should Target In The 1st Round Of The 2025 NFL Draft

The NFL Draft takes place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on April 24th-26th, where the Las Vegas Raiders are primed to take the first step in a new era led by future HOF coach Pete Carroll.

Over the next couple of weeks, many NFL analysts will try to predict what the Raiders will do in the 1st Round. With the 6th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Raiders will have several options on who they could take with their 1st-round selection.

Here are 3 players that the Raiders should consider taking with the 6th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, if available.

Option One: Ashton Jeanty, Running Back, Boise State

Ashton Jeanty is one of the best running back prospects that the NFL has seen in several years. Derrick Henry has proven how well offenses can perform with an every-down powerhouse running back, and the Raiders could benefit from the talent that Jeanty provides. The Heisman Trophy runner-up is a guarantee to take the NFL by storm through his speed and physicality.

PFF currently has Jeanty ranked as the best running back and the 5th-ranked overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Boise State running back had statistically the 2nd best season from a running back in the history of the NCAA last season, narrowly falling short to HOFer Barry Sanders and his Heisman-winning season. Jeanty spent three seasons with the Broncos, where he finished his college career with 750 carries, 4769 rushing yards, and 56 total touchdowns. Jeanty has been compared to Alvin Kamara through the draft process.

The Raiders are desperately in need of finding offensive playmakers to surround veteran quarterback Geno Smith, and there’s not a player that’s as talented as Jeanty. The 5’9”, 215-pound running back is extremely hard to tackle and is willing to spend time working on his pass protection to develop into an All-Pro level running back. Jeanty has the most proven skill set out of any player who would be available at the 6th pick.

Option Two: Jahdae Barron, Cornerback, Texas

Jahdae Barron has skyrocketed his Draft stock over the past couple of months, and it is easy to see why. The 5’11”, 200-pound defensive back performed well at the Combine, collecting a 94 production score according to NFL Next Gen Stats. The Texas defender was the key behind a dominant Longhorn defense in 2024.

PFF currently has Barron ranked as the 2nd-ranked defensive back and 7th-ranked overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Barron played five seasons with the Texas Longhorn, and he improved each year as a part of the Longhorn defense. The defensive back finished his college career with 221 total tackles, 23 pass deflections, and 8 interceptions. Barron has been compared to All-Pro defensive back Stephon Gilmore during the draft process.

The Raiders have yet to find their number-one cornerback to build their secondary around. Still, the Raiders have invested in the secondary through the 2024 Draft, selecting guys like Decamerion Richardson, M.J. Devonshire, and Trey Taylor.

Even with a young secondary, the Raiders are in desperate need of finding a Pro Bowl-caliber guy to cover talented AFC West receivers like Ladd McConkey, Courtland Sutton, and Xaiver Worthy.

Option Three: Mason Graham, Interior Defensive Lineman, Michigan

Mason Graham is arguably the third-best defensive prospect behind Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter. Graham was a force to be reckoned with during his time with the Wolverines. The former Michigan defender has experience playing every position on the defensive line, making him a versatile playmaker who could be the true leader of the Raiders’ young defense.

PFF currently has Mason Graham ranked as the best interior defensive lineman and the 4th overall rated prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Graham is listed at 6’3″and 320 pounds and has experience in wrestling, which gave the defender an edge over most offensive linemen during his college career. During his three-year career with Michigan, Graham finished with 108 total tackles, 9 sacks, and 3 pass deflections. Some have compared Graham to Christian Wilkins during the draft process.

The Raiders are in need of talent on both sides of the ball, and Graham may be one of the most talented players in the entire Draft. He has incredible speed and often finds tremendous leverage over any offensive line he has faced. Raiders’

GM John Spytek should consider taking Mason Graham with the 6th overall pick if the former Wolverine is available.
