Los Angeles Kings Make History In Their Big 3-1 Home Win

The Los Angeles Kings are hitting their stride at a crucial point in the season, showcasing impressive form as the playoff race intensifies.

After decisively ending the Carolina Hurricanes’ eight-game winning streak on Saturday, the Kings carried their momentum into Sunday’s home game against the Boston Bruins. Despite playing on consecutive nights, the Kings delivered a dominant performance, scoring 7 goals for the second straight night.

On Tuesday, led by Anze Kopitar, who contributed a goal, and strong performances from Quinton Byfield and Adrian Kempe, each with two points, the Kings secured a resounding 3-1 victory over the Rangers at Crypto.com Arena.

This win elevates LA’s season record to 40-21-9, totaling 89 points and placing them in a tie with the Edmonton Oilers for second place in the Pacific Division.

This victory is particularly noteworthy as it extends the Kings’ home point streak to 15 games, extending a new franchise record, as confirmed by the team’s public relations department.

Just days ago, the Kings passed the previous mark, despite an early setback, with the Bruins scoring within the first 20 seconds of the game, they quickly regrouped. They seized the lead before the end of the first period and extended it to a two-goal advantage heading into the third. A decisive three-goal surge in the final frame solidified their 7-2 victory in front of their home crowd.

“It’s impressive, there’s no question and one I think we share with everybody, with our fans, with the city. That’s what I think we’re proud about. That’s all of us. We should all be pretty proud of that, not just the players but the fans as well,” Head coach Jim Hiller remarked, as reported by team beat reporter Zach Dooley, highlighting the collective achievement.

With their strong performance, the Kings are well-positioned to secure a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They are currently playing their best hockey at a pivotal time in the season.

The team will face a significant road challenge as they head to Colorado next to take on the Avalanche.
