There have been a flurry of moves ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline, including yet another blockbuster from the Colorado Avalanche, in which they acquired Brock Nelson from the New York Islanders. We actually linked Nelson to the Kings during the 4 Nations break, as he would have brought some offensive firepower that LA desperately needs.

However, Rob Blake has been working on the phones, and he finally pulled the trigger on this trade, adding an offensive weapon in Kuzmenko.

On the season, Kuzmenko has 6 goals and 14 assists for a total of 20 points. Not exactly first-line point production, but it’s certainly a nice depth add. We will see where the 5’11 left winger slides into the lineup.

Kuzmenko began the season with the Calgary Flames before he was traded mid-season to the Flyers. Now he comes to LA as the Kings continue their push for the playoffs.

Will Rob Blake make any other moves before the deadline? The Kings have lost five straight games and desperately need a spark.
