The talk of the Nation right now is the 4 Nations tournament that will feature the United States and Canada squaring off in the title game on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean that the Los Angeles Kings haven’t been working behind the scenes with the NHL Trade Deadline approaching.
The LA Kings have been linked to a few big-name players but the latest could be really interesting.
According to Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty, the Kings are among the teams that are targeting Buffalo Sabres forward Alex Tuch.
Los Angeles Kings Targeting Alex Tuch

Alex Tuch is currently 2nd on the Sabres in Points this season, with 19 goals and 24 assists, totaling 43 points. This point total would put him 3rd on the Kings, just behind Adrian Kempe and Anze Kopitar with 46 and 45 points respectively.
The Kings currently sit in 3rd place in the Pacific Division, holding a playoff spot, but they could certainly use some more scoring talent. They are currently 20th in the NHL in goals for per game with 2.83 goals per game.

The Sabres are at the bottom of the standings, yet again, so they could be looking at moving some of their higher-priced players and recouping more draft picks. Tuch currently holds a $4.75 million cap hit and will be a free agent in 2026.
The Kings currently have roughly $3.2 million in cap space, so theoretically, they could make it work.
Still just 28 years old, Tuch was drafted in the first round, 18th overall, by the Minnesota Wild. He was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights after just one year with the Wild. In 2021, Tuch was traded to the Sabres, with other compensation, in exchange for Jack Eichel.
Tuch played his college hockey at Boston College.
