PJ Fleck Withdraws From Consideration For UCLA Football’s Top Job; Bruins AD Has 48 Hours Left.

Chip Kelly ran his most creative play yet last week, but it was a last-second end around out the door and to the east. 2200 miles to the east. UCLA’s athletic director put an expedited timeline on filling the still-warm chair, 96 hours. As of the publishing of this article, he has half that time remaining.

PJ Fleck Puts UCLA Football Rumors to Bed

Among the top names to emerge to fill that seat was Minnesota Golden Gophers head football coach, PJ Fleck. In his tenure with the Ski-U-Mah’s, Fleck is 50-34 and an impressive 5-0 in bowl games.

U of M fans went so far as to speculate which flight to LAX their head coach was on, but Fleck put the rumors to bed with a dignified tweet:

Fleck is celebrating his 8th anniversary with his wife, Heather, as of Sunday, February 11th.

With UCLA Football kicking off its inaugural Big Ten season in 2024, Fleck will be in Los Angeles when Minnesota takes on the Bruins on October 12th at the Rose Bowl. The schools last met in 1978 and UCLA is 1 and 2 against the Gophers.
