Former Four-Star Running Back Transferring To UCLA Bruins

We are just around the corner from fall camp kicking off and the UCLA Bruins just bolstered their running back room even more.

Per Pete Nakos of On3.com, former Michigan State transfer running back Jalen Berger is joining DeShaun Foster and the UCLA Football team.

Jalen Berger Transferring To UCLA Bruins

The 5th-year Senior played his first two seasons at Wisconsin before transferring to Michigan State. He combined for 389 yards and 3 touchdowns in two seasons with the Badgers.

2022 was a bit of a breakout year that saw Berger rush for 683 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2023, however, he only played in 5 games and finished with 93 yards. This dropoff in production was due to an injury, but also in part to a coaching change mid-season for the Spartans.

Berger joins a UCLA running back room that will be led by TJ Harden and Keegan Jones. Harden may end up being one of the top backs in all the Big Ten, but Berger will be a great depth addition that will bring veteran leadership and Big Ten experience.

If there is any position that should be trusted on this Bruins team under Foster, it is running back.
