Fantasy Football Updates: Week 10 Injuries And Waiver Wire Week 11
Zach Ertz, TE – Arizona Cardinals
- Rolled his knee in the first quarter against the Rams and limped off to the sidelines, before being carted off to the locker room
- Did not return to the game and it’s being labeled as a knee injury that will force him to miss a few weeks
- Ertz is currently ranked as the 3rd best fantasy tight end right now and his loss will affect all fantasy managers that are rostering him
- An interesting wrinkle is that rookie Trey McBride will step into the starting role and could be a great replacement
- The rookie second-round pick will take this opportunity to carve out a role on this team now and for sure next season

Jerry Jeudy, WR – Denver Broncos
- Jeudy left the game in the first quarter on the very first drive against the Tennessee Titans
- Did not return to the game and is diagnosed initially with an ankle sprain
- If things progress well, Jeudy could be in-line to play this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders
- The main thing is that this injury is not considered catastrophic and he should miss this week at the most if he does miss any time at all
- Jeudy has scored the most receiving touchdowns on the Broncos, but Courtland Sutton is the clear leader in targets and receptions
- Tight end Greg Dulcich will benefit from Jeudy missing time and so will Kendall Hinton
- If you’re in a bind, then adding Hinton wouldn’t be a bad option, but you can look elsewhere since the Denver offense is performing way below average right now
- Grab someone like Kadarius Toney, Jahan Dotson, Odell Beckham Jr., and Donovan Peoples-Jones
Khalil Herbert, RB – Chicago Bears
- Herbert left the game against the Detroit Lions in the fourth quarter with a hip injury
- While the extent of the injury is uncertain, it’s likely that Herbert might miss a week or two
- Depending on how the week of practice goes for Herbert, then he could potentially suit up in Week 11
- If Herbert does miss this coming week or longer, David Montgomery will be the lone running back and will get all the carries
- Justin Fields has been a dynamic runner and he might be asked to continue that if Herbert misses time
- This Week 11 game against Atlanta will be a great matchup for Montgomery, but most likely there’s someone in your league that has him rostered already
- With that in mind, maybe go and grab some of these following players for Week 11 at least
JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR – Kansas City Chiefs
- Smith-Schuster took a big shot in the second quarter and was taken out of the game with a head injury
- He’s going to go through the concussion protocol this week and he possibly might miss this coming week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers
- Smith-Schuster has been heavily targeted lately by the Chiefs and he will be missed in the offense in case he missed this week’s contest
- While Kansas City has a lot of weapons, it’s hard to depend on one week in and week out in this offense
- Kadarius Toney scored for the first time in his career as a member of the Chiefs and could see an uptick in targets if Smith-Schuster missed time
- Travis Kelce is the main option in this offense, but outside of him it’s a bit of a crapshoot who will go off
- You might be better off going with a receiver in another offense if you can’t use Smith-Schuster this week
Gerald Everett, TE – Los Angeles Chargers
- Everett left the game against the Niners in the second quarter with a groin injury
- He did not return in that game and this injury could require Everett to miss a couple of weeks
- The Chargers are missing a ton of playmakers in the offense and losing Everett would be another blow they may not be able to take
- With all that said, the Chargers offense still pushed San Francisco in the game last week and could have come across with a victory with all these injuries
- Without Everett, this offense could suffer but they have some backup tight ends that could fill the void but just not to the same extent
- Donald Parham and Tre McKitty would step in but you’re better off looking for another tight end on another offense
Cooper Kupp, WR – Los Angeles Rams
- Kupp rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals
- Kupp has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and will undergo ‘tightrope’ surgery and will miss several weeks
- He will certainly miss this coming week’s action against the New Orleans Saints
- The Rams are not in a good spot to make the playoffs this year and they may be better suited to rest up Kupp to be fully healthy to keep him for the long-term
- The Los Angeles offense would be pretty ineffective if Kupp can’t suit up, but Allen Robinson would see an uptick in targets
- Also, you can look at players like Tyler Higbee, Van Jefferson, and Ben Skowronek
- It would be more advisable to look at receivers on other offenses with Kupp most likely out for a couple weeks
Leonard Fournette, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Fournette left the game against the Seahawks with a hip injury in the fourth quarter
- Seems to be a hip pointer injury that could keep him out this week and possibly next week
- The good thing for fantasy managers with Fournette on their rosters is that the Buccaneers are on a BYE week and could have him good to go by Week 12
- In his place though, the rookie Rachaad White was sensational in Germany in his first career start
- He rushed for 105 rushing yards off of 22 rushing attempts
- Should Fournette have a setback and he’s forced to miss Week 12’s game against the Cleveland Browns, White is an excellent replacement pickup off the waiver wire week 11
- Should someone else nab him off the waiver wire, there are plenty of other options to grab which were mentioned earlier
Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 11 Picks
Waiver Wire Week 11 Quarterbacks
Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders vs. HOU (ESPN Roster Percentage – 13.8%)
- The Commanders have now won three of their last four games with Heinicke under center
- He’s been a consistent performer since taking over as the starter but he’s not going to blow you away with fantasy points
- Heading into Week 11, the Commanders play the Texans and should allow Heinicke a chance to put a good amount of points up for your fantasy roster
- He scored 23 fantasy points against a weak Colts defense and this Texans defense seems like a chance for Heinicke to put up a similar point total
Daniel Jones, New York Giants vs. DET (ESPN Roster Percentage – 59.4%)
- While he is playing inconsistently this season, his next two games leave some very favorable matchups
- The Lions (who the Giants play next week) have allowed the opposing QBs to score 20+ points four times this season
- The Cowboys, their opponents in two weeks, currently rank as the 16th-best defense against the pass
- Jones has the potential to blow up for big points especially if he has a good passing performance and with his upcoming schedule. He’s well worth the risk for a BYE week replacement or simply starting if you’re really hurting for a QB
Waiver Wire Week 11 Running Backs
Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs vs. LAC (ESPN Roster Percentage – 23%)
- So he’s been pretty disappointing since being named the Chiefs starter but I think this might finally be the start of his increased workload
- This is the first time he had more than 10 carries since Week 4 and just the third time all season. Every time he does, he goes for over 60 yards
- So maybe now the Chiefs finally recognize the fact that if you feed him the ball, he produces unquestionably well
- So while this does carry risk with it, I think this could be a sneaky good pickup because it’s just a matter of time until the Chiefs are forced to lean on their run game and Pacheco is the best back they have on their roster
Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers vs. ARZ (ESPN Roster Percentage – 51%)
- Even with Christian McCaffrey a part of the San Francisco offense, Mitchell led the team in carries against the Chargers
- McCaffrey had 18 carries compared to 14 for McCaffrey, but they both ended up with 20 total touches in the offense
- This seems like a situation where the 49ers want to monitor how much they use McCaffrey as they push toward the postseason
- McCaffrey has dealt with injuries the past two seasons and the 49ers want to ensure that they can use him in the playoffs, should they make it
- Mitchell is a great piece in this offense and should see lots of carries in the offense as the 49ers fight for a playoff spot
Waiver Wire Week 11 Wide Receivers
Van Jefferson, Los Angeles Rams vs. NO (ESPN Roster Percentage – 8%)
So the Rams could depend on Allen Robinson but let’s be real. Van Jefferson has already proven to be a fit in this offense and is the better athlete so fills that slot role much better
The Saints are ranked 18th against the pass, Chiefs 25th, Seattle admittedly 3rd and Vegas is 20th
So I don’t know if he’s a must-start add but definitely a bench add with absolute starter potential
Darius Slayton, New York Giants vs. DET (ESPN Roster Percentage – 4.6%)
- This 5 percent roster ownership surprises me.
- Since coming back to the lineup, Slayton has become a great weapon for Daniel Jones and the passing offense
- Slayton was able to rough up the Texans for 95 receiving yards off of three receptions and he scored a touchdown as well
- Slayton has dealt with injuries the past two seasons, but when he’s healthy he is a dynamic piece of the Giants offense
- Heading into this game against the Detroit Lions, Slayton and the New York passing offense should be able to accumulate a ton of yards through the air
- The Lions are currently surrendering the ninth most passing yards in the NFL so far
Waiver Wire Week 11 Tight Ends
Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders vs. DEN (ESPN Roster Percentage – 12.3%)
- Darren Waller is on the injured reserve list. This means Moreau steps into the starting role for the Raiders offense
- Playing against the Colts last week, Moreau was able to score once and totaled 43 receiving yards
- He almost got his second touchdown of the day but dropped the ball in the endzone
- Moreau will fill the starting role nicely while Waller is on the IR and can be a valuable piece to pair up with Davante Adams
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints vs. LAR (ESPN Roster Percentage – 8%)
- Admittedly this is a definite touchdown or bust situation but it’s hard to do better at this point in the season
- But Andy Dalton seems to really like him as a target, as he usually does when he’s the starter (remember Tyler Eifert?)
- The Saints are always going to be passing the ball. I think that the touchdown or bust bet isn’t a terrible one. Risky? Sure but a good risk
Waiver Wire Week 11 Defenses/Special Teams
Cincinnati Bengals vs. PIT (ESPN Roster Percentage – 35.5%)
- The Steelers are moving along with their rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett
- The last time these two teams played each other, Mitchell Trubisky was under center for the Steelers and the Bengals were not playing like most people expected them to play.
- Now, the Bengals defense is ranked 11th in fewest points allowed and seventh in fewest yards allowed
- This is a slam dunk pickup this week and the Cincinnati defense should be one of the higher-scoring defenses this week
Tennessee Titans vs. GB (ESPN Roster Percentage – 60.8%)
- Admittedly an 11-point performance against a struggling Broncos offense isn’t exactly a light-up game but it still leaves enough hope that they can perform well against an offense with a talented QB that is struggling
- This is exactly what the Packers are despite their last game
- Aaron Rodgers still struggled against Dallas last week and they won the game more despite him than because of him
- Tennessee probably won’t blow the tops off the scoring potential but they are upper-middle tier as a streaming option
Waiver Wire Kickers
Chase McLaughlin, Indianapolis Colts vs. PHI (ESPN Roster Percentage – 5.9%)
- With Matt Ryan back in the offense, it will definitely be more high-powered than it has been before, opening up opportunities for him
- They’re about to play Philadelphia, a team that allowed the Commanders to put up more than 20 points. This means the potential is there for a kicker that will most certainly be available no matter where you are on the waiver order
Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans vs. WAS (ESPN Roster Percentage – 2.5%)
- Fairbairn is the ninth-ranked fantasy kicker right now
- Coming into this game against the Washington Commanders, expect the Texans to have plenty of scoring chances for Fairbairn
- Both teams have kickers that can score some good points in this game, but Fairbairn might be the better of the two
