Super Bowl XLVII (47) MVP Joe Flacco is arranged to join the Denver Broncos this offseason. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday morning that the team has an agreement set with the Ravens that will send Flacco to Denver. Although the teams cannot comment or confirm the reported trade until March 13 (beginning of the NFL year). The Broncos will send their first 4th round (they have two) pick to the Ravens in exchange for Flacco.

Flacco has already been promised the starting job as Denver sports reporter Mike Klis announced. Keenum will most likely be a trade piece for the Broncos, considering the fact that many teams still have question marks at quarterback. If he is released and signs with another team, there is offset language in Keenum’s contract that would allow the Broncos to only eat the difference of the new deal he makes.

Flacco, an 11-year veteran, was a first-round pick back in the 2008 draft going 18th-overall. He has accumulated over 38,000 yards in his career along with 212 touchdowns, winning 106 games.
Flacco started in nine games for the Ravens this past season before going down with an injury that involuntarily sidelined him. He threw for 2,465 yards, 12 TD’s and six interceptions while completing over 60% of his passes.
Remember the last time the Broncos received a “washed-up” QB? Yeah, Peyton Manning ended up leading them to multiple Super Bowls in three years. It’ll be interesting to see how Flacco fits in Denver, but it for sure adds some excitement to this offseason.
