What a strong win for the Bears in a low-scoring, but highly entertaining contest with the Washington Huskies. Let’s take a look at how our prospects are looking after this week.
UPSET ALERT: Camryn Bynum Shows Out Against Washington
Patrick Laird, RB
Finally, two back to back strong performances for Laird. Although he did not score he still led the team in rushing with 83 yards on 22 carries. They needed a solid performance from him to get the win, and Laird delivered. Especially considering the passing game was less than stellar for the whole game.
Next week’s matchup against Washington State should be a tough test, but not an impossible upset. Washington State gives up a lot of points, so it is up to Laird to take advantage and find the end zone. Don’t be surprised if we see a strong 100+ yard performance out of him next week.

Draft Projection: Mid 6th – 7th Round
Jake Curhan, OL
Although the scoring numbers don’t help his case, Curhan had a solid day against this tough Huskies defense. Despite allowing 4 sacks, the O-line held up in the run game, which helped put them in field-goal range.
Next week will be a chance to show up against a top-tier opponent. Despite Washington States 10th overall ranking in the AP poll, they allow a good deal of points. So if Curhan and the rest of this O-line can stay strong and hold up, a W is possible. Don’t get me wrong, it will be a tough test, but one that is more possible than meets the eye.

Draft Projection: 5th Round
Vic Wharton III, WR
While he did lead his team in receiving yards with 45, he was unable to find the end zone. Yet that does not seem to be his fault, as quarterback play was not as strong as desired. Despite this, Wharton had a solid day for the Bears and put them in position to make a play.
Next week look for Wharton to tear apart this porous Washington St. defense. If productive quarterback play is present, Wharton has the talent and skill to produce.

Draft Projection: 7th Round – Undrafted
Jordan Kunaszyk, LB
What a strong day for Kunaszyk and this Bears defense. He had 8 total tackles to go along with 0.5 sacks and they needed every bit of it. This performance showed how dominant this Bears defense can be if they can hold it together. They have the skill to take on the best in the PAC-12.
Speaking of, next week’s game against Washington St. will push Kunaszyk and this defense to their limits. They average over 30 points per game with the air raid offense and will be tough to stop. But Jordan Kunaszyk has shown to be a solid player and will definitely aid the team next week.
Performance Grade: A-
Draft Projection: 6th Round
Camryn Bynum, CB
Another strong outing for this superstar. He ended up with 5 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and an interception. In addition, he (along with the entire defense) held the Huskies to just 10 points. This was definitely a statement win and Bynum’s best performance of the season. This is what he can bring to a team and to an NFL franchise. If he can have another performance like this one, they have a solid chance of neutralizing the Mike Leach air-raid offense. And with that pass-heavy style, don’t be surprised to see an interception from Bynum.
Performance Grade: A+
Draft Projection: 3rd – 4th Round
