Everyone believed the Seattle Seahawks were in a rebuilding season, but they could defy all odds and get a wildcard berth.

They are in a division containing the world-beating Los Angeles Rams, but a 5-5 record through 10 games and a favorable stretch run could mean a wildcard berth and January football.

The Seahawks play the Panthers this week, which is a tough challenge, but that is not a definite loss. They also must play the 49ers, twice as well as the Cardinals, Vikings, and Chiefs. The latter two are home games which will help to play in front of the 12th man.

The Seahawks haven’t been blown out this season, they’re a tough team and they keep it close. Of their five losses, they have gone down to the Rams twice by two and five points. They’ve also lost to the Broncos by three, Bears by seven and Chargers by eight.

Quality Performances

There have been several players who have contributed to these great games, none more so than defensive end Frank Clark.

Clark, who is in a contract year, has 21 total tackles and 10 sacks. He is earning his place on this team for many years to come. He is leading by example and has lifted his team to some rousing wins this season.

Along with Clark, strong safety Bradley McDougald is having a stellar season in Seattle. In his second season with the team, he is commanding respect from opposing wide receivers and already has two interceptions of his own.

Two of the Seahawks offensive standouts this season have been receivers, Tyler Lockett and Doug Baldwin. Between them, they have amassed nearly 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. Lockett especially is having an incredible season on the right side.

The “Legion of Boom” may be gone from Seattle but the heart and determination to play for one another are not. They might be 5-5, but they are one of only three teams to push the Rams all the way and they did it twice.

If all these players stand up and make their mark in the remaining weeks of 2018, the Seahawks will go along way to winning a wildcard berth this season.
