Gavin Meyer entered the transfer portal at the 11th hour, but it didn’t take long for the masses to make him the most coveted defensive lineman available. Today it was reported by Pete Nakos that Meyers will visit USC Football next week

Originally, his agent Miles Jordan told On3 Sports that 13 schools were in the running for Meyes. Now the search appears to be down to four; USC, Cal, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

A two-year stint as a starter racking up 26 games, The 6-foot-4, 282-pound nose tackle put up a respectable 40 tackles, including five tackles for loss, four sacks, and a forced fumble. This season, however, his senior year tallies dipped to 26 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Still, with immediate eligibility on the table, Meyer remains a hot commodity. Wisconsin, his home state team, is likely a frontrunner, but one wonders if the allure of warmer pastures (and perhaps tastier offers) might tempt him elsewhere.
