Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? The success of an underdog is one of the biggest reasons that sports draw us together. Sure everyone loves the star quarterback or the big-time five-star recruit. But there is a reason why Rudy and his one collegiate possession of play is so inspiring.

We love the underdog.

There have been some amazing triumphs within USC Football lore. Today there is another.

USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley announced after practice that longtime walk-on WR Josiah Zamora has officially earned a scholarship offer.

The former Mater Dei product walked on to the USC Football team back in 2021. At 5’8, 175, it was always going to be an uphill battle for Zamora to not only make the roster but earn any playing time. Well, you can measure someone’s height and weight, but the size of the heart is immeasurable.

He may not have the talent or skill set of a Zachariah Branch, or Duce Robinson, but day in and day out, Zamora has put in the work and earned his place as a scholarship athlete.
