When speaking to the media after Tuesday’s practice, USC Football’s wide receiver coach, Dennis Simmons said that the team would “without a shadow of a doubt” be looking to add a wide receiver in the transfer portal after spring camp.

As outside receivers coach, Simmons would certainly like to add more height and length to the position group. The spring transfer portal officially opens on Saturday, April 15, 2024, and closes on Sunday, April 30, 2024.

The Trojans currently have nine receivers on the roster but have to replace several 2023 starters. Tahj Washington and Brenden Rice declared for the 2024 draft. Mario Williams, Michael Jackson III and Dorian Singer have all left USC through the transfer portal. They represented just under 60 percent of USC Football’s total passing yards, including the Holiday Bowl.
Front Runners To Take Starting Reps At WR
Duce Robinson and Zachariah Branch are poised to move into their spots. Both had good seasons but did it in different ways. Robinson as a speedy deep threat, posted 351 yards with just 16 catches. Branch had 320 yards on 31 receptions.
USC also added Tufts transfer, Jaden Richardson. Richardson offers good size, 6’2″, 210 lbs, and lots of play experience. He had over 40 receptions in each of the last two seasons. Last year he had 830 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games.
Currently on the roster they also have Makai Lemon, 5-11 190 Sophomore. Ja’Kobi Lane, 6-4 195 Sophomore. Kyron Hudson, 6-1 205 R-Junior. Xavier Jordan, 5-11, 170 Freshman. Josiah Zamora, 5-8 182 R-Junior. Corey Nerhus, 5-9 185, Senior, and Jayden Moore, 5’11” 192, R-Freshman.
