The USC Trojans defense scored a big win over the weekend by landing 4 2025 commits and a 2026. A significant reason they were able to achieve that is their new defensive line coach, Eric Henderson.
USC Trojans Top Recruiter
According to the newest version of 247 Sports, Recruiter Rankings, Henderson ranks 3rd in the nation placing behind only Tim Walton of Ohio State and Frank Wilson of LSU. 247 credits Henderson with three commitments; Justus Terry, Isaiah Gibson, and Gus Cordova.
The most impressive get was Terry, who was committed to Georgia and flipped to USC despite being from Georgia. Terry is ranked the 8th best football player in his class and 2nd best at defensive line.
Henderson is the only USC recruiter to crack the top 100, but that could change as head coach Lincoln Riley has stated his intention to move toward recruitment and development. Recent coaching hires point toward that.
Eric Henderson’s Bonafides
Henderson joined the Trojans after spending the last five seasons as defensive line coach of the Los Angeles Rams. There he developed multiple players and of course, worked with future Hall of Famer, Aaron Donald.
While his resume is impressive, what sets him apart is his passion and love of recruiting and developing people; mentoring them on and off the field.
