USC Trojans Recruiting: Why These Possible Commitments Will Be Worth The Wait

The USC Trojans just wrapped up another massive recruiting weekend that looks as though it will amplify their 2025 recruiting class to even greater heights (currently ranked 3rd in On3 recruiting rankings).

One recruit who was a part of the big weekend already announced his commitment on Sunday.

The 6’5, 256-pound EDGE rusher out of Westlake, California decided to remain home and commit to the Trojans after his official visit and meeting with the coaching staff. Lowe was scheduled for an official visit to Oregon but ultimately decided to commit to SC.

This was the first of what is expected to be two more commitments, with the potential of others. Yet, we are bleeding into the evening of Monday, and nothing else has been announced.

What is the hold-up?

Who Else Is Committing To The USC Trojans?

On Saturday evening, many “Bat Signals” were sent out via X.com by the USC Powers that be, all of which indicated there were three hard commitments after the weekend’s events.

With the announcement of Lowe, who are the other two, and what is the hold-up? Based on some purely speculative Sherlock Holmes detective work, here are the recruits that were present this weekend that the @USCFB X account reposted.

Five-star QB, Julian Lewis – Committed to USC

Four-star linebacker, Christian Gass – On3 predicts a commitment to Florida

Four-star defensive lineman, Malik Autry – Committed to Auburn

Four-star EDGE, Justin Hill – On3 predicts a commit to Ohio State

Three-star offensive lineman, Willi Wascher – Committed to USC

Three-star wide receiver, Romero Ison – Committed To USC

Four-star linebacker, Noah Mikhail – On3 predicts a commitment to Oregon (USC Trojans 2nd)

Four-star wide receiver, Corey Simms – On3 predicts a commitment to Missouri

Three-star defensive lineman, Floyd Boucard – On3 predicts a commitment to USC.

So does any of this tell us anything about who the next verbal commitments will be? No, not really.

It appears that Floyd Boucard may be leaning towards USC after having a glowing review of his Miami visit just a week ago. Was it enough for him to verbally commit?

Noah Mikhail is a local kid (La Verne) who has been on USC’s radar for quite some time. Oregon has been pushing hard, but with the new USC defensive coaching staff, they have as good a shot as any program.

Of this list, perhaps the biggest win for Lincoln Riley would be if they were able to flip Malik Autry from Auburn. The 6’5.5, 325-pound defensive lineman has been committed to Auburn since February of 2023. It would speak volumes if Eric Henderson and Co. could get him to flip to sunny So Cal.

Riley Pettijohn is another player (not on this list above) who would be a huge get for the Trojans. He has been heavily linked to the Texas Longhorns, but the team in second on his prediction is the USC Trojans. Pettijohn did not post his recruiting video to X, but did post it to Instagram and the USC Football account reposted it there. Meaning? Probably nothing.

If I were to personally put in crystal balls, I would say that Floyd Boucard and Riley Pettijohn will be the next commits announced, with the potential of flipping Mallik Autry.

When it is all said and done, the USC Trojans should be real close to holding the number one recruiting class of 2025.
