The USC Trojans 2024 Schedule was just officially announced, and boy is it a doozy. We have known the opponents for a little over a month now, but as of today, the dates are set!
Notable Dates:
The Trojans open the season against the LSU Tigers on neutral turf in Las Vegas. This has the opportunity to be a statement game or set the season in a tailspin right off the jump. Everyone remembers the 2016 game against Alabama in Dallas, or I should say everyone is still trying to forget it. If SC can take down a top SEC team right at the jump, it will demonstrate a great trend for the program, and will obviously start the season off on a tremendous path.
USC gets its first taste of BIG10 football in Week 4 when they travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines. Another huge opportunity to make a statement and play one of the nation’s best teams in one of the toughest environments. The Trojans do catch a bit of a break in that the weather should still be very mild in September.
On October 12, the Penn State Nittany Lions come to the Coli. This will be another fantastic matchup and has the recipe for a rivalry in makings. Penn State is a strange school in the sense that they don’t have one true bitter rival. Perhaps SC vs Penn State will become one of the new great BIG10 rivalries.
The Trojans have to travel to Washington to face the Huskies and play the Victory Bell Game at the Rose Bowl in the back half of the schedule. They finish the year hosting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Coli.
As a College Football fan, this is an unbelievable schedule with so many signature matchups. For a program fighting to make the College Football Playoff, this schedule is a gauntlet but also gives ample opportunity for margin of error. Three losses with this schedule would not be as catastrophic as in years past.
