The College Football Transfer Portal is officially open for business and the USC Trojans have some work to do to fill out their roster.

There has been talk that Lincoln Riley and the Trojans have a lot more NIL money this time around to pursue elite talent, something that they will need if they intend to gain top veteran talent, especially in the trenches.

The arms race that is college football in 2024 has begun and the clock ticks fast.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports, elite Kentucky defensive line transfer Keeshawn Silver is turning his sights to four schools: Florida, Miami, Michigan, and the Trojans.

The 6’4, 322-pound redshirt junior is a former 5-star recruit out of North Carolina. Silver finished 2024 with 26 total tackles and 1 sack.

The Trojans have high-quality talent and athleticism at the EDGE position in Anthony Lucas, Braylon Shelby, and Kam Fountain (will need more depth), and just added elite 5-star defensive end Jahkeem Stewart, but they are in dire need of an elite nose tackle.

Silver hasn’t lived up to his high school 5-star rating, but he has been a solid player throughout his career, and he has the size that USC is looking for in the middle.

The Trojans will need to add multiple defensive linemen through the portal, and Keeshawn Silver would be a great start, but they will have stiff competition.
