USC Trojans Have The Opportunity To Add Top Player In Transfer Portal

The USC Trojans still have a lot of talent at the DB position, but the experience is lacking. If S Kamari Ramsey decides to declare for the NFL Draft, then the Trojans will lose every 2024 starter from the secondary.

Regardless, they will need to add secondary help in the transfer portal and there is the opportunity to land the number one CB in the portal who would come in and start on day one on the outside.

That player is University of Arizona CB Tacario Davis.

Davis was a 3-star prospect out of Millikan High School in Long Beach. He was not heavily recruited but ended up at Arizona with head coach Jedd Fisch.

There is definitely the sentiment that Davis could end up back with Fisch at Washington, but with the defense in flux with the potential of DC Steve Belichick joining his dad Bill Belichick in North Carolina, the Trojans have the opportunity to swoop in.

The 6’4, 190-pound corner has developed immensely since being recruited, where he landed as the 112th-ranked CB in the 2022 class, per On3.

Last season, he finished with an 81.7 tackling grade, per PFF, which is a skill set that is emphasized in the D’Anton Lynn system. Corner’s are asked to make big-time tackles in one-on-one situations.

The College Football Network also named the USC Trojans as a potential destination for Davis. He would be a great fit, have the opportunity to be CB1, and would aid in Lincoln Riley’s quest to gain more SoCal players.
