Brown, a former standout running back for the Illinois Fighting Illini, brings a unique blend of playing experience and recruiting acumen to Los Angeles. A former team Offensive MVP (2019) for Illinois, Brown returned to his alma mater in April 2024 to work alongside general manager Pat Embleton as a key member of Bret Bielema’s recruiting staff.

The 27-year-old Brown quickly became a visible and active recruiter for the Illini, playing a crucial role in their efforts to secure commitments from top prospects in the Class of 2026. His contributions were highly valued by Bielema, who entrusted him with significant recruiting responsibilities, particularly in the Midwest.

Brown’s connection to the Big Ten and his understanding of the recruiting landscape within the conference will be invaluable assets for the Trojans. His background as a player, having rushed for 902 yards and seven touchdowns during his Illinois career (2015-2019), provides him with a unique perspective and allows him to connect authentically with prospective student-athletes.

Brown’s career trajectory includes experience as a recruiting coordinator at Tennessee and a rapid ascent at Notre Dame, where he served as a defensive and recruiting analyst before being promoted to director of recruiting in March 2024. This diverse experience, coupled with his playing career at Illinois, positions him well to excel in his new role with the USC Trojans.
