USC Trojans Land Commitment From 4-Star Edge Rusher, Lose 3-Star DL

The USC Trojans have received a major commitment from four-star edge rusher Braeden Jones. Jones, a standout player from Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel, announced his decision to join the Trojans over offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame, and other top programs.

USC Trojans Add Edge Rusher To 2026 Recruiting Class

Jones, who is ranked as the No. 134 overall and 12th-ranked edge prospect in the 2026 class, is a highly sought-after recruit. His impressive size and athleticism have caught the attention of college coaches across the country.

The USC Trojans defensive line coach, Eric Henderson adds Jones to his recruiting class. He is currently ranked the nation’s 11th-best recruiter. His commitment is a significant boost to the program and further solidifies its plan to become a top destination for talented high school players.

The 6 foot 5, 235-pound defender visited Los Angeles for the first time this weekend to watch the Trojans’ game against Penn State. Despite the competition from USC was able to secure his commitment.

The Trojans’ 2026 recruiting class is already impressive, with other top prospects like Xavier Griffin, Brandon Lockhart, Ja’Myron Baker, Joshua Holland, Madden Riordan, Elijah Vaikona, Daune Morris, Gus Cordova, and James Johnson. The addition of Jones further strengthens this talented group of incoming players.

In other recruiting news, 2026 3-Star Viliami Moala de-committed from USC. The interior defensive lineman committed to USC on September 10th, then flipped his commitment to Oregon on October 14th.
