Outside of a few potential late commitments in the late signing period, the USC Trojans 2025 Recruiting Class is set, but now they have to set their sights on the 2026 class. The job is never done.

We are just under a year away from the 2025 signing day, but Lincoln Riley and the Trojans have done a nice job of putting a premium on California talent. So far, 4 of 6 commitments are from the Golden State.

At this point, the 2025 class features local talent in CB Brandon Lockhart, WR Ja’Myron Baker, DB Joshua Holland, and ATH Madden Riordan.

5-Star Folsom QB Ryder Lyons is trending to the Trojans and now another local legacy has USC in his Top 5.

According to Chad Simmons of On3, Rancho Cucamonga product, 4-star CB RJ Sermons has USC as a finalist, along with Alabama, Georgia, Washington, and Oregon.

Can USC Trojans Lock Down RJ Sermons?

Back in November, the Trojans received a Crystal Ball to earn the commitment of Sermons, so it appears that they are certainly in the driver’s seat. However, a year is a long way away, and we saw what a roller coaster this past recruiting cycle was.

Coach Belk, Coach Riley, and the entire staff will need to keep their foot on the gas if they want Sermons on campus in 2026.

Sermons is the 2nd-ranked CB in the entire 2026 class, according to On3 rankings. Of the Top 10 CBs in the rankings, the only one currently committed is Lockhart (5th), to the Trojans. The 3rd-ranked CB, Davon Benjamin out of Oaks Christian in Corona, is also trending towards USC.

Building the pipeline in California is important for Lincoln Riley and USC’s success. Landing a commitment from RJ Sermons would be another step in the right direction.
