The Trojan Wall. That is what all USC Trojans fans have been asking for. It is nowhere close to being built yet, but Lincoln Riley and his staff are certainly taking steps in the right direction.

One of the top prospects in the 2026 class is a Trojan legacy, RJ Sermons out of Rancho Cucamonga.

USC recruiting insider for On3, Scott Schrader, just recently put in a crystal ball for Sermons to commit to the Trojans. USC is competing with Oregon, Washington, and Notre Dame (among many others), but it looks like the Trojans have a firm lead.

Will The USC Trojans Land RJ Sermons?

The 4-star, 6’0, 180-pound corner is the number two CB in the entire class, and the 5th-ranked player in the state of California.

The 3rd-ranked CB in the 2026 class is Devon Benjamin out of Oaks Christian in Corona, CA. He is also currently favored to commit to the Trojans, but no crystal ball has been given and his primary recruiter early on was former DB Coach Donte Williams, who is now coaching with Georgia.

The 5th-ranked CB in the class is Brandon Lockhart, who is out of Loyola High School in LA, and he is already committed to USC.

2026 is a long way away but having the potential to land three of the top five CBs in the country, all three of which are from the LA area, would be a major win for Lincoln Riley, Doug Belk, and the recruiting philosophy of the Trojans.

There is still work to be done over these next two weeks for the 2025 class, but putting a greater emphasis moving forward on building the Trojan Wall is certainly a good sign.
